Calli Kim

This piece was a bit more orchestral to me. I really liked the drum piece I built for it as well. That was actually the first thing I built.  I built the rest of the song around it and put a softer touch on it. I feel like with a bit more work this could be a piece for a commercial.

 

With the Rhythm I liked the deep sound of the east bay kick so I chose that kick. You will also note that In section one I added a drum roll. Im proud of this because I am really starting to get used to building beats with my keyboard versus using the piano roll.

 

This piece is in the key of D Major. The first section is D-Bm-G-A7. The second section is G-D-G-A. I think the second section as almost like an elongated bridge. 

 

My audio was relatively simple. I tried to reinforce the harmony by playing the chords on the guitar. I also did it to add a bit of texture. You will see that there is an effect of the shaker which is track 9.
